Make or do? - Exercise 2 Answers

Meet Luke

Hi, my name is Luke. I’m 14 years of age. What do I do? I am of course a student. I’m finishing my 2^nd year of secondary school. However, I do lots of other things apart from studying.

In the afternoon I do spots almost every day. I play football twice a week and I have recently started doing judo and I really enjoy it. The rest of the days I do different things, sometimes I play basketball, but this is something I do with my friends, nothing serious or we might just hang out in the park, go to the cinema at the weekend.

I am in the middle of my final exams. I just did an exam today which I think I didn’t pass. However, overall, I am doing quite well. I didn’t do so well during my first year but I have made an effort and it seems I am making progress.

I’m looking forward to the summer holidays. This year I am going to a sports camp-ok, you may say I am sports-mad. I expect to make lots of friends there and moreover, these are people I share lots of interests with. In August I will go to the beach with my parents and just relax. I guess I won’t do me any harm to take a break from sports and studying!

I always do the washing up at home and sometimes I do my own laundry. However, my mum said I will have to do some extra duties during the summer if my grades don’t improve enough in my final exams!
